A gentle comedy that opens in Morocco in 1981 in the month of Ramadan. Following the imprisonment of her husband, who has been jailed for political activism, Amina (Nezha Rahil) and her seven year old son Mehdi (Fouad Labied) move in with her father in law Ahmed (Mohammed Majd) to a remote mountain village. The family struggle through some difficult times but the main concern for Amina and Ahmed is to avoid telling Medhi that his father is in prison by maintaining the illusion that he is merely away working in France.
